The Workforce Development Program at St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa County is a paid transitional employment and mentoring program that provides training and work experience for those who are new to or recently re-entering the work force. The program begins with a two day Job Preparation Workshop. Participants learn to fill out applications, compose cover letters, tailor resumes, set personal goals, manage time and finances, and other important life skills. Selected participants may interview for the 24 week Transitional Employment component consisting of paid, part-time jobs at St. Vincent de Paul. Participants are matched with mentors and take weekly classes to continue developing skills necessary for finding and keeping employment.
