We have over 1,000 volunteers who provide services to the needy in Contra Costa County but we need more for the need is great. Please consider volunteering your time and services to help others. Areas where we need help are as follows:
Thrift Store
St. Vincent de Paul has two thrift stores, one in Pleasant Hill and the other in Pittsburg. These stores sort and stock gently used items such as clothes, household goods and furniture. The revenue from these stores pays the salary and costs of entry level workers who are learning skills to allow them to participate in the general workplace. The store also is a source of low cost merchandize to the marginally employed. However, as important, the store assists the Conferences in providing free clothes, household goods and furniture to the very needy. Decorator: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10:00am-4:00pm.
Linen Clerk: Monday-Saturday, 10:00am-4:00pm.
Stocker: Monday-Saturday, 10:00am-4:00pm.
Sorter: Monday-Saturday, 10:00am-4:00pm.
RotaCare Pittsburg Clinic at St. Vincent de Paul
The RotaCare Clinic is located in Pittsburg just off Leland Blvd in St. Vincent de Paul’s Family Resource Center. It is open every Wednesday (except holidays) from 4:00 – 7:00pm. This free clinic offers chronic and acute care to uninsured adults not currently served by other community clinics. You can volunteer as little as once a month. Click here for more details. Nurses: Wednesday, 4:00-7:00pm.

Appointment Receptionist: Wednesday, 1:00-3:00pm.
Translator: Wednesday, 4:00-7:00pm.

Dining Room
St. Vincent de Paul, in collaboration with Loaves and Fishes, provides a hot meal to the needy at our Family Resource Center dining room in Pittsburg off Leland Blvd. Servers are needed every weekday (expect holidays) from 10:00am–1:30pm. Click here for more details.
