Pittsburg, CA – St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa County announces that effective March 16, 2018, Claudia Ramirez has been named as the organization’s Executive Director.

Claudia has served as the interim Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul, since December 18, 2017. During her tenure at SVdP, the organization has successfully launched a new facility in Brentwood, The St. Vincent de Paul Brentwood Help & Hope Thrift Center. Additionally, Claudia is coordinating the rebuilding of the SVdP Thrift Store in Pleasant Hill, which was significantly damaged by a fire in late October.  A SVdP volunteer, (Vincentian), for 7 years, Ms. Ramirez is the volunteer Vice President of St. Vincent de Paul’s branch at St. John Vianney Church in Walnut Creek. She brings years of experience and leadership in business that will benefit SVdP and the community that we serve.

“Many people in our communities are struggling with the accelerated cost-of-living and the housing crisis in the Bay Area resulting in their having to choose between paying rent or buying food or paying utilities, for example,” said Ms. Ramirez. “I’m committed to helping people who are struggling with dignity and compassion. People of all faiths & distinctions are welcome at St. Vincent de Paul.  One of my goals for the near future will be to more effectively mobilize SVdP’s volunteers and resources to help those in need.  SVdP wants everyone in need to know that they are safe to come to SVdP for help!”

“Claudia’s charism, personality, energy and skill set were evident from day one. We are so blessed to have her as our Executive Director. I’m certain she will continue to develop the relationships with our partners, staff and Vincentians leading our Vincentian family in our Mission and growth”, stated Ron Costanzo, SVdP Board President.
